Who we are

Meta Animals Technologies Corporation (“we”, “us”) is the company behind IAGD (International Animal Genetics Database) — a digital pet registry and community for owners, breeders, and clinicians.

What we collect

We collect the smallest set of personal data needed to operate the app. Specifically:

• Account data: name, email, hashed password, and optional profile fields (birth date, contact number, profile photo).
• Pet records: every field you enter on the pet or stud registration form — names, dates, breeds, microchip numbers, pedigree, addresses, owner/co-owner names, and any photos or documents you upload.
• App activity: the screens you visit, the actions you take (e.g. registering a pet, posting in the lounge, searching), how long you spend in a session, your device platform (Android / iOS / web), the app version, and (when applicable) the public IP address that delivered the request.
• Crash reports: when the app crashes, we capture the error message, stack trace, the route you were on, the app version, and (if you are signed in) your member ID, so we can reproduce the bug.
• Push notification token: when you grant push permission, your device’s Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored against your account so we can deliver notifications you have subscribed to (e.g. a new chat message, a pet approval).

We do not collect biometric data, contacts, calendars, SMS, call logs, browsing history outside the app, files outside the ones you explicitly upload, or any sensitive categories beyond what is listed above.

How your data is linked

App-activity rows and crash reports are linked to your account by your member ID (a UUID). Signing out does not delete your account or its data. To erase your account and the data linked to it, request deletion via privacy@iagd.pet — we will action it within 30 days.

If you turn on Anonymous mode (Account → Privacy), new app-activity rows and crash reports are stored with your member ID stripped. Existing rows captured before you toggled the setting remain attributed until you request account deletion.

Third parties

The app uses these third parties to deliver core functionality:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications. Receives your device push token; receives the notification payload at send time.
• Google Sign-In (Google) — verifies your identity when you sign in with Google. Receives the Google credential you authorize during sign-in.
• Hostinger — application hosting + database storage in the EU.
• iagd.pet + metaanimals.tech — our own image hosting subdomains. Stores photos and documents you upload.

We do not use any third-party analytics provider (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, etc). The app activity data described above is collected by our own telemetry endpoints and stored in our database; it is not shared with any third party.

Your controls

• Anonymous mode: Account → Privacy → toggle “Anonymous mode”. New app-activity rows and crash reports are stored without your member ID.
• Push notifications: Account → Notifications → toggle each category individually (chat / pet approval / lounge posts).
• Delete your account: use the in-app flow (Account → Danger Zone → Delete account) or email privacy@iagd.pet from the address on your account. Full instructions are on our account deletion page. We will action within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and removes your account row, your member ID from app-activity rows, your pet and stud records, your uploaded photos and documents, and your push token.
• Export your data: request via the same email; we will deliver a JSON export within 30 days.

Data retention

• App-activity rows: kept for 90 days from creation, then automatically deleted.
• Session keep-alives (used to compute the “online now” count): kept for 7 days, then deleted.
• Daily aggregate counts (e.g. how many users were active each day, how many pets were registered): kept indefinitely. These rows contain no personal data — only counts.
• Account, pet, and stud records: kept until you request deletion.

International users + GDPR / UK GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right under GDPR / UK GDPR to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact privacy@iagd.pet to exercise any of these rights.

Our lawful bases for processing are: (a) contract for account, pet records, and chat — we cannot deliver the service without these; (b) legitimate interests for app activity / crash reports / push tokens, balanced by your right to opt out via Anonymous mode and the per-category notification toggles; (c) consent for analytics where required by your jurisdiction — collected via the first-launch consent screen.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or 16, where local law sets a higher minimum). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, contact privacy@iagd.pet and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

When this policy materially changes (new third party, new data category, new retention window), the app will surface an in-app notice the next time you open it, with a link back to this page. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
